Church of St. Mary Magdelan
Church of St. Mary Magdelan Wexford
The parish of Maudlintown at the south of the town takes its name from the church of St. Many Magdelan.
There was a leper hospital attached to this church. It was founded just after the Norman conquest. It belonged to the Knights of St John Hospitallers in the Reign of Edward IV.
It was suppressed in 1541.
Prayer
Saint Mary Magdalene, woman of many sins, who by conversion became the beloved of Jesus, thank you for your witness that Jesus forgives through the miracle of love. You, who already possess eternal happiness in His glorious presence, intercede for us, so that some day we may share in the same everlasting joy. Amen.
